Champagne J. Lassalle

Champagne J Lassalle was founded in 1942 by Jules Lassalle. After Jules’ death in 1982, his wife Olga, took over with their daughter Chantal Decelle-Lassalle. In 1996, Chantal’s daughter Angéline Templier, joined the business. Together, these three women continue to lend the house respect for its recognized style, which can be described as classic and elegant. All the Champagnes of the house are allowed to ripen with care and for a long time in the cellar until they reach a great taste.

The house is located in the village of Rilly-la-Montagne, on the north side of the hill of Montagne de Reims. The house owns 16 acres of Premier Cru-rated nursery. Pinot Meunier is the most important by area (48%), followed by Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Noir (22%). The wines undergo a malolactic fermentation, which soften the often strong acidity of Champagne. The long cellar ripening and the normal addition of sugar produce a style that has no ambiguity about its palatability and high quality.
