92-94/100p Burghound.com: A cool, pure and elegant array of lilac, lavender, lemon rind and green apple scents displays a wisp of exotic spiced tea. Much like the palate impression of the Charmes, the unusually rich and voluminous medium weight flavors completely coat the palate with sappy dry extract which again buffers the firm acid backbone on the focused, complex and beautifully persistent finish where a hint of bitter lemon arises. This is at once lacy and refined yet powerful while also remaining extremely promising – it should amply repay a decade plus of cellaring.
Domaine Latour-Giraud on Meursaultin kylässä Côte de Beaunessa sijaitseva pieni perheyhtiö. Talon omistuksessa on noin 11 hehtaaria viinitarhoja pääasiallisesti Meursaultin alueella, mutta talolla on myös tarhoja Puligny-Montrachetin, Volnayn ja Pommardin kylissä. 80 % talon tuotannosta on valkoviinejä. Meursault’ssa Domaine Latour-Giraud omistaa kuuluisasta premier cru-tarhasta, Genevrièrestä, peräti 2,5 hehtaarin kokoisen palstan. Talon johtajana ja viinintekijänä toimii Jean-Pierre Latour, joka on nostanut Latour-Giraudin Bourgognen laatuhuipulle mutta talon hintataso on pysynyt vielä kohtuullisen maltillisena.
