Lytton Springs is the home of the legendary California Ridge Vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County. Paul Draper, the winemaker who made Ridge Vineyard famous, produced his first vintage from this vineyard in 1972, when the vines were about 80 years old. Today, even vines over a hundred years old produce full-bodied, intense, and very versatile wines. 95/100p Tom Lee, Zinfandel Chronicles: Dark crimson in color. 14.6% ABV. 79% Zinfandel, 11% Petite Sirah and 10% Carignane. Show-stopping nose of red and black fruits, peach and baking spices. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity. Tremendous mouth feel and texture. Black cherry, black raspberry, cocoa and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Just an awesome Lytton Springs in spite of the vintages challenges. Best over the next 8-10 years.
