Le Cerrine Chianti Riserva 2018

Cantina Gentili is a small family business in its third generation. Sinibaldo Gentili was already growing grapes in the area in the 1950s and the actual winery was founded in 1963 by Sinibaldo’s son Carlo. Today, the company is run by Carlo’s sons Luca and Alessandro. The winery is located in the small village of Piazza, in the province of Siena, just south of Tuscany, on the border with Umbria. The soil of the area is mainly limestone clay, but Gentili also has gardens on the slopes of the 1,148-meter-high Monte Cetona, which has volcanic soil. Gentili owns 15 hectares of vineyards and produces a varied and high-quality range of Tuscan classics: Chiantia, Chianti Riserva, super-rich reds and excellent white Chardonnay. The quality of the wines is consistently high and very enjoyable. The price level is moderate for quality.
